St Vincent de Paul - A DIFFERENT KIND OF CHRISTMAS

SVP have continued working throughout the pandemic to help those in need in our community. We have had to work differently but we have managed to secure safe ways of delivering help to people in need of our assistance.  We wish to thank all our regular donors and sponsors for their continued support of cash donations and standing orders.

Last Christmas we helped families of all creeds throughout our community with 65 households receiving hampers, £10,000 in cash and vouchers distributed along with £3000 of fuel.  We also worked alongside the Salvation Army to distribute toys to 52 families.

We have had to re think how we can assist our clients with toys and gifts for Christmas considering all of the current  COVID restrictions and which may also be subject to change in the coming weeks.  Hence, we are making this appeal early so that families can be prepared by asking members of the local community to consider buying a gift voucher from a variety of outlets, preferably in the next week or so, which we will distribute to families & which will enable them to shop for their own children. So many things will be different this Christmas but some things like presents under the tree need to stay the same.
